Who we are

Our four pillars at Methow Episcopal are worship, fellowship, spiritual formation, and ministry.

Thank you for visiting us online! We are a joyful and growing lay-led faith community of open and affirming Christians from all backgrounds and ages worshiping in the Episcopal church tradition. All seekers are welcome.

Worship

We worship with a mix of traditional and contemporary music, and most services include a simple Agape Meal, or, when a priest visits, the Eucharist. We worship inside and outside.

Methow Episcopal was selected for a grant and inclusion in the Baptized for Life initiative at the Virginia Theological Seminary in partnership with the Diocese of Spokane.

Youth and Children

Children of all ages are welcome at worship.

Sunday School for K-5 is held during the middle part of the service. Youth Group (middle school and older) schedule in newsletter. Reach out for more information.

Our youth engage in service projects and with the fellowship, as well as actively participating in services. From campouts to rockclimbing and more, the fall cider press to hut trips, we find ways to have fun and learn about God.

Our history

We started with church in a box!

Methow Episcopal began as a small gathering of Methow residents hoping to start a progressive liturgical worship in the Methow Valley. The first service was held on Ash Wednesday 2015 in Mazama using ashes from the Methow Trails fire pit. Our first services were in the Mazama Community Center.

We have celebrated two baptisms and a memorial for one of our members, and continue to grow in our faith and fellowship together.

We have moved to Winthrop to better accommodate people in Mazama, Winthrop, Twisp, Carlton, and the entire Methow Valley. We are a Bishop's Chapel of the Diocese of Spokane.
